Thanks for stopping by
We’re Sarah and Simon, your friendly neighborhood soulmates and the husband and wife team behind Seed and Spring Creative! The two of us met while we were attending film school in northwest Ohio, where Sarah was born and raised. After getting hitched out in corn country, we moved to Simon's hometown, just outside Boston, and started this business together.
Wedding photography and videography has given us a much-needed creative outlet. It has also provided a unique opportunity to practically use our college degrees while employing our training for the benefit of others with love stories just like our own. It’s that last bit that has been the most rewarding aspect of our journey, and the reason we’re so passionate about what we do!
In 2023, we found our new home in southern Maine (woop woop!). We couldn’t be more excited for this new chapter of our lives, as people AND professionals. Now more than ever, we are committed to doing what we love to do: capturing split-second moments that you will remember and cherish forever…

What do you enjoy doing when you aren't working?Simon: I realized at a young age that my favorite thing to do was write. From short stories and screenplays to freelance copywriting, I still feel most at home with a pen (or a keyboard) at my disposal. If you somehow convince me to stop working altogether and actually relax, I’m probably sipping cold brew coffee, playing basketball, or re-watching one of our favorite shows. I also love spending time with the little gremlin that lives in our house (AKA our cat, Jarvis). Sarah: When I don't have a camera in my hand you can find me in the dance studio! I have been a dance teacher for the last 8 years. Seeing my students express themselves, learn something new and grow, not only as dancers, but as people brings me so much joy. I also love caring for my plant collection (I have close to 100 plants in our house! Sorry Simon!) and playing fetch with our cat, Jarvis. You heard that right, fetch... with our cat!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?Simon: Iceland! We went there for our honeymoon and have been dying to go back ever since. Sarah: The Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. I grew up going there with my family practically every year. Despite the fact that we all had to cram into a minivan for an 8 hour drive to get there, I loved watching the flat corn fields slowly transform into gorgeous mountains!

The story behind the name "Seed & Spring"
As we've grown over the past few years, we've come to the realization that we don't want our brand to be an afterthought. How we present our business to the world should align with our core values as people. In essence, what we do should be an extension of who we are. With that in mind, we started brainstorming names that would better represent us. "Wedding Wonder" served us well in its heyday, but we always had the feeling it was a temporary placeholder. During our discussions, a couple of scriptures stayed top of mind.
Seed
Matthew 13 suggests that we should have the faith of a mustard seed, faith that, though perhaps small in its current state, has the roots to grow over time into something beautiful. We view our couples' relationships in much the same light. The wedding, although a joyful and unforgettable milestone, is merely the seed. With time, care and attention, that seed can blossom into a thriving marriage.
Spring
In Psalm 23, David describes God as a shepherd who leads his flock into green pastures and beside still waters. We hope that all of our couples surround themselves with the support system necessary to withstand the storms of life and always return to the green pastures and tranquil springs of a healthy marriage.
